Kia Ora Talofa Welcome              Thursday 5 May  2016

I hope that the term has started well for your child and that they are excited to be back at school. The warmer weather is certainly worth celebrating as we prepare for the cooler weather approaching.

Communication continues to be a pivotal part of the school’s organisation. Most classes send out their own newsletters and then I send General Newsletters out for special events about 5 times a term.

We are working on revamping our website and hope it will become the main portal for notices and other information. More info will follow.

Just a few reminders following on from last Terms newsletter.

Interviews are set for week 5 ( Tuesday 31 May 3 – 8 pm and Wednesday 1 June 3-6 pm )  The code will be sent out next week. We are planning a Health Expo for the Tuesday 31 May and have a few times and events still to finalise

SCHOOL WILL BE CLOSED MONDAY 16 MAY FOR A TEACHER ONLY DAY.

I know this can be a disruption for parents but the reason for this is it allows us to visit other schools that have been rebuilt and help us design the facilities and practices that best suit Bromley.

Our staff will be spread out over Christchurch looking at schools like Pegasus, Te Waka and Halswell to name a few.

I am sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause.

On a closing note, it is important to remind our community that we need to be aware of our children travelling to and from school. Not only is traffic an on-going issue but on very few occasions there are some characters around that are a worry. Today we have been alerted to a male hanging around the car-park by the Cemetery in Raymond Road. I have no immediate concerns around this but rather giving you a ‘heads up’ if you use this car-park, to be a little more aware than normal.

Regards
