Term 2 Final Newsletter   2016-08-07

Kai Ora    Talofa     Welcome

Amazingly we are at the end of the second Term and we will be close to August when the new Term begins.

We have had some fantastic things to celebrate this Term and most recently a number of exciting Educational trips and Sporting and Cultural Activities. Last week The Learning Expo had nearly 150 parents visit the Hall and Library to experience the Learning that the children were participating in. It was a fantastic time and the children were so proud of their work and the opportunity to share it. Thank you to all who were able to attend.

It was also a memorable day for our children (and a few staff ) and in particular the Rugby team when we were privileged to host the All Black Captain , Keiran Read. Mrs Baker was able to convince him to come and run a skills session and we were very honoured to hear from one of the world’s top athletes and hear him pass on some of his wisdom and learning experiences.

We have been offered a fantastic opportunity to run the Coffee and Computers programme at school in Terms 3 and 4. More information around this is included below.

Coffee and Computers

Does your family not have a computer at home?

Would you like to improve your computer skills?

Would you like help to get connected to the internet?

Coffee and Computers will run at Bromley School next term on Tuesday mornings (9am-10.30am). You can join the class if you said "yes" to any of the above! In a relaxed environment, we will help you improve your digital skills, get connected to the internet, and even supply a refurbished computer to those who do not already have one at home. (Families who need a computer  pay $50 towards the cost -  Computers in Homes programme)

Due to funding, we are also offering the internationally recognised digital certification KiwiSkills ICDL free to jobseekers. This is a great certificate to add to your CV!   http://kiwiskills.nz/

Something for everyone. Learn more skills - get connected - complete the ICDL certification - and maybe even take a computer home! No charge unless you wish to take a computer home ($50 as above)

Meet in the back of the Library on Tuesday 26 July at 9am to register and find out details.
